Remove SugarSearch Virus from Your Computer


What is SugarSearch?

SugarSearch is defined as an adware program that is created by malevolent advertisers. In order to inject this vicious program into your computer, these advertisers often develop some free software containing such vicious program and post to the Internet. Provided that computer users carelessly get the installation of SugarSearch, their browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Molilla Firefox will be made chaotic. And this adware program doesn’t allow you to reset them to default condition. When this malicious program takes control of your browser, it will add tons of text-link ads and banner ads to your browser. And your browsing activities are often interrupted by annoying pop-up ads. If you click on these bothersome ads, you’ll be redirected to some unverified commercial websites. It is dangerous to leak out your credit card information on these dubious sites because this program can gather your sensitive data.

SugarSearch not only endangers your confidential information but also plays havoc with your operating system. This nettlesome adware program uses the Internet to download certain malicious programs and browser extensions from sponsored websites. When lots of system resources are taken up, your computer performance will be slowed down. Then your browser takes forever to load any websites. Additionally, your computer gets stuck easily when you run more than two programs at the same time. What is worst, SugarSearch utilizes various pop-up ads to distribute many horrible viruses. To protect your computer from being damaged, it is recommended that you uninstall SugarSearch from your Windows. 

Manually Remove SugarSearch Virus Step by Step

It is kindly recommended that you should pay more attention when you remove SugarSearch manually. If a certain important system file is removed mistakenly, your problem will have other problems.

Step 1: Press Ctrl+ALT+Del keys at the same time to open Task Manager. End the process of SugarSearch.


Step 2: Remove the files of SugarSearch. Open Start Menu and then go to Control Panel. Then use the search bar to look for Folder Option. Check Show hidden files and folders and un-check Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) in the View tab of Folder Option window.

Step 3: Delete SugarSearch registry entries from your PC. Click start button and search for regedit to open Registry Editor.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Wpm

Step4: Click Start button and select Control Panel. Then click Programs. And then remove all suspicious programs from your PC.


Step 5: Remove toolbars and extension from your web browser.

For Google Chrome

1. Click the icon that looks like a spanner and navigate to Tools > Extensions to remove all unknown extensions by clicking Bin button.


2. Click the icon that looks like a spanner and click Settings > Appearances > Show Home button > click Change button to reset your homepage.


For Mozilla Firefox

1. Click Ctrl+Shift+A at the same time to open Add-ons page > Extensions to remove all unknown extensions.


2. Click the Firefox button > Help > Troubleshooting Information > click on Reset Firefox button.


For Internet Explorer

1. Click Tools > Manage Add-ons > Toolbars and Extensions to remove all unknown extensions.


2. Click Tools > Internet Options > General. And create a new homepage on Home page box.

Step 6: Reboot your PC.
